The Aerospace and Defense (A&D) industrial supply chain is critical for national security, technological leadership, and economic strength. Recent global events have put a strain on the supply chain, making it necessary to strengthen it. A strong supply chain should be resilient, agile, efficient, and secure. The U.S. government is working on this through initiatives like the National Defense Industrial Strategy Implementation Plan, but the industry must also take action. This includes realistically assessing its capabilities and investing in its workforce and infrastructure. Partnerships between contractors, suppliers, and government agencies are essential to foster innovation, increase supply chain redundancy, improve cost efficiency, and reduce risks.
